Head Into the Wind!

Good morning friends. I hope that this morning finds you happy and feeling positive.

I thought I'd share some thoughts today from a guy that I read almost every morning. Seth Godin runs a website that's ranked #50 in the US for the most internet traffic. It's called Squidoo and if you're like me, you've barely heard of it. This was his post a couple of days ago:

"Yesterday, Squidoo reached one of its goals: We're now ranked #50 among all US sites in traffic. Ahead of the New York Times and Apple.

There are more than four million pages on Squidoo, from a recipe for candied chickpeas to an entire magazine about Halloween. All built by our talented members. The thing is, our tiny team grew this way with intent. Stepwise progress is a choice, and it means you invest, measure and focus your energy differently. It can be frustrating, because shortcuts get ever more tempting along the way.
With 50,000,000 unique visitors a month, our platform seems to be hitting its stride. A typical overnight success that took seven years to build. Thanks to the squids and to everyone who helped us get this far."
Now, what does this have to do with the Bay Life Worship Arts blog? Well, it's an encouragement. As a worship Pastor, I find it difficult to have patience when I don't see results NOW! My nature wants to short-cut or use some fancy process that will turbo-charge my efforts to get things done.

Now, God's word has something to say about this as you may expect. My mind goes to the parable of the seed, the Israelites in the desert, Job's life and so on but I actually have come to love a single verse and feel like God may have put it in the Bible just for me. It's Galatians 6:9 and it says:
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
So there you go. Keep on keeping on, step forward and keep making the next best step that you can make. Know that God is for us and that nothing can separate us from His love and care. That's enough for me!

Blessings,
Brad
